I’m still a bit bummed about missing out on the JC Richard Jurassic Park Mondo print from a few years back, but it looks like I might finally get the chance to snag some art inspired by my favorite movie of all-time because Mondo is hosting an event called “When Dinosaurs Ruled the Earth” in June that will feature a “dino-sized” gallery of work celebrating the film.
The opening reception will take place on June 12th from 7 to 10pm at the Mondo Gallery in Austin, Texas and then the exhibit will be open for regular hours from June 13th to June 27th. Here’s what Mondo CEO Justin Ismael had to say about the event:
“Hosting an entire gallery exhibit of new Jurassic Park artwork is a dream come true for us. It has been over 20 years since the first film captured the imagination of the entire planet and we hope to recreate some of the wonder and excitement of the franchise with this show.”
The exhibit will feature work from 31 artists, but you don’t have to wait to see Francesco Francavilla’s contribution because Mondo unveiled his piece early, and obviously I want it. You can follow Mondo on Twitter for more reveals leading up to the show. If you’re like me and are super disappointed you can’t be there in person, you will have the opportunity to buy remaining prints and original works on MondoTees.com at a later date.
