MR. NICE Trailer Starring Rhys Ifans, Chloe Sevigny, and David Thewlis

     June 1, 2010

The UK trailer for the drug-dealer dramedy Mr. Nice has popped up online.  The film stars Rhys Ifans as real-life pusher, kingpin, and spy (among other professions) Howard Marks, who became one of Britain’s most wanted criminals.  The trailer doesn’t thrill me like I hoped it would.  It looks like British Blow, complete with standard 70s-era visuals and rise-fall narrative.  Only the spy stuff grabs my interest.  The synopsis is so over the place that it’s hard to pick up a better idea of the movie.  Still, Ifans is great and the cast also includes Chloe Sevigny, David Thewlis, and Crispin Glover.  Hopefully the performances combined with Marks’ incredible story will make for a solid film.

Hit the jump to check out the trailer.  Mr. Nice is slated to hit theaters in the UK this fall, but it currently has no distributor for a US release.
