As far as what we know so far for Need for Speed,  Keaton will play a “reclusive and eccentric host of an underground supercar race where he invites the best drivers from around the world.”  The Need for Speed adaptation, written by John Gatins (Flight), centers on “a local street racer (Paul) who partners with a rich and arrogant business associate (Cooper), only to find himself framed by his colleague and sent to prison. After his stint in the joint, he joins a New York-to-Los Angeles race to get revenge. But when the ex-partner learns of the scheme, he puts a massive bounty on the racer’s head, forcing him to run a cross-country gauntlet of illegal racers in all manner of supercharged vehicles.”

Baggage Claim stars Paula Patton as an unmarried flight attendant who becomes determined to find a man before her younger sister’s wedding. Brody will play the flamboyant flight attendant friend who helps to get her engaged by Christmas by arranging several of her ex-boyfriends to cross her path throughout the day. Derek Luke co-stars as Patton’s long-time friend and potential love interest.  Lauren London and Jill Scott also co-star in the picture.

Fruitvale pleased audiences at Sundance earlier this year, including our own Matt Goldberg (read his review here).  The film centers on the 2009 police shooting of Oscar Grant (Jordan).  The 22-year-old was shot by a BART police officer (who was later convicted of involuntary manslaughter) at the Fruitvale station in Oakland, California on New Year’s Day.  The violence was caught on cell phones, sparking protests in the days after. The emotional film focuses on Grant’s final 24 hours.
