‘Neighbors 2’ Deleted Scene Features Lena Dunham as Joan of Arc

     April 4, 2016

Neighbors director Nicholas Stoller and his cast left a lot of material on the cutting room floor, including an alternate frat house opening and a “Play Date” scene that were included on the film’s home release. The sequel, Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising, doesn’t hit theaters until late May, but we already know one bit of its cut footage that’ll hopefully be included on the eventual Blu-ray.

Girls creator Lena Dunham posted an image to Instagram of herself strung up on a bonfire dressed as a Witchblade-esque Joan of Arc. She wrote:

Throwback to when I played the role of Joan of Arc in Neighbors 2. I ended up on the cutting room floor so you won’t see my scene in the film, but it was all worth it for these blade hands and the chance to rewrite history as a Joan who jumps off the flaming pyre and guts a lot of men. I can’t wait for this movie.

The first Neighbors film saw Zac Efron’s Ted rewriting history by going through a montage of all the ways Delta Psi Beta started every major Greek life party traditions, from beer pong to the toga party to the boot and rally. And these flashbacks also featured celebrity cameos from Andy Samberg’s Lonely Island crew, Adam DeVine’s Workaholics gang, and Jake Johnson. I can only imagine some sort of sorority version of this from Chloe Grace Moretz and her newfound Greek sisters.

Neighbors 2 returns Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne as they partner with their former nemesis when an equally boisterous sorority, Kappa Nu, moves in next door. Selena Gomez, Dave Franco, Ike Barinholtz, Lisa Kudrow, Kiersey Clemons, Billy Eichner, and more feature in the sequel, which is set for release on May 20th. Based on the trailer, the comedy seems just as ball-busting and uproarious.
