nicholas-houltFirst up from Deadline comes word that Hoult is the latest addition to Dark Places.  Theron is attached to star as Libby Day, a woman forced to re-face the massacre of her family over two decades before when a private group of amateur investigators calling themselves the Kill Club re-opens the case.  Hoult is set to play Lyle, an awkward young man who is the treasurer of the club.  Chloë Grace Moretz was previously reported as being in talks to join the picture.  Hoult will next be seen alongside Theron in Mad Max: Fury Road followed by a reprisal role in X-Men: Days of Future Past.

Next up from THR is the report that Spencer will join Bateman in This Is Where I Leave You as Bateman’s cheating wife.  Jonathan Tropper adapted his own novel for the screenplay which centers on a dysfunctional family of four siblings who are forced to spend a week together in the same house as part of their recently-deceased father’s last requests.  Deadline reports that Olyphant will star as Horry, the next door neighbor of his former girlfriend, Wendy (Tina Fey). Their teenage love was shattered by a tragic accident that forced Horry to live with his mother as a result of his brain injury while Wendy married another man.  Schwartz will star as the local rabbi who acts too cool for his position.  The film also stars Jane Fonda,Kathryn Hahn, Rose Byrne and Corey Stoll.  Spencer will next be seen in the Sundance Channel’s Rectify, from the team behind Breaking Bad.

Finally, Deadline reports that Timlin will topline The Town That Dreaded Sundown in a bit of a twist.  In the meta remake, the original 1976 movie – which was inspired by the 1946 “Moonlight Murders” in Texarkana – is screened as part of an annual tribute.  Timlin stars as Jami, a girl who survives a copycat massacre at one such screening and then uses clues from her own past in an attempt to solve the mystery of who’s behind the recreated Sackhead murders.  Timlin will next be seen in Stephen Sommers’ adaptation of Dean Koontz’ Odd Thomas.
