21 JUMP STREET Directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller Set for THE REUNION

     June 27, 2013

Even though they’ve only done two films, Phil Lord and Chris Miller have become two of my favorite directors working today.  They took the tough-to-adapt properties Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs and 21 Jump Street and turned them into brilliant comedies.  They also created Mr. Butlertron in their short-lived MTV show, Clone High, so points for that as well (WESLEEEEY).  The duo is currently at work on the upcoming animated The LEGO Movie (which looks great), and then they’ll moving onto the 21 Jump Street sequel, 22 Jump Street.  Now they have another project in the works.

According to Variety, Lord and Miller will produce The Reunion, a comedy for Sony with Miller directing from his own script.  Details of the story are being kept under wraps, but it will take place during a high school reunion.  Hopefully, we’ll learn more soon, but 22 Jump Street is going to be the priority for now since it’s scheduled to go in front of cameras this fall for a June 13, 2014 release.
