Monday TV Ratings: HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER Series Finale Hits All-Time Highs; TOMORROW PEOPLE Rises

     April 1, 2014

TV ratings for Monday evening are in.  Here’s a brief look at the highlights:

  • The incredibly divisive series finale for CBS’ long-running sitcom How I Met Your Mother scored a couple of highs, hitting a 5.3 rating in the 18-49 demo and raking in 12.9 million total viewers.  Those are both all-time highs for the show, which ran for a total of nine seasons and elicited very, very strong reactions from its final episode.
  • Though it faced the behemoth HIMYM finale, The CW’s Star-Crossed saw a gain of 33% with a 0.4 rating and 1.1 million viewers.  The Tomorrow People was also up, rising 67% to a 0.5 rating and 1.1 million viewers.

Hit the jump for the rest of the ratings report for Monday, March 31st, including Friends with Better Lives, The Blacklist, and The Following.

  • the-blacklist-milton-bobbitNBC’s The Blacklist was even with last week’s performance, notching a 2.8 rating and scoring 11.39 million viewers.

  • Bones rose 7% to a 1.5 rating and scored 5.63 million viewers.
  • The Following may have even out, as last night’s episode matched last week’s series low 1.4 rating and brought in 4.23 million viewers.

  • Elsewhere on CBS, the series premiere of the new comedy Friends with Better Lives was so-so if not spectacular, scoring a 2.7 rating in the demo and 7.99 million viewers.  It also benefitted from airing directly after the HIMYM finale.
  • Mom hit a 2.2 rating and scored 7.24 million viewers, which is up 16% from last week’s 1.9 rating.
  • The (series?) finale of Intelligence rose 9% to a 1.2 rating and scored 5.55 million viewers.
