Ron Perlman gets THE JOB

Hollywood Reporter has word that Ron Perlman is joining Patrick Flueger, Taryn Manning and Joe Pantoliano for The Job which began shooting today in Detroit.

Flueger (of 4400 fame) plays a con-man trying to go straight so that he can marry and support his wife (Manning). Enter Perlman as a mysterious drifter who hooks him up to work with Pantaliano who –in turn — ends up wanting more from Flueger than it had seemed.

Shem Bitterman is adapting his own stage into the indie feature. An established playwright, he also wrote Halloween 5, and it’s up to you to decide if you’re going to let him live that down.

Hollywood Reporter’s article also notes that The Job is one of the first films to make use of a new Michigan production law that can give locally produced films a 40% refund in tax breaks. I’ve been saying for years that Michigan is just America‘s Australia and it looks like I’ve finally been proven right.
