Los Angeles Readers: Win Passes to RUNNER RUNNER

     September 24, 2013

I don’t know if it’s too early to have a throwback to ten years ago, but there is a little nostalgia coloring Runner Runner, or at least that’s my read on the plot.  The film stars Justin Timberlake as a Princeton student who is cheated out of his tuition money playing online poker and ends up traveling to Costa Rica to confront the on-line mastermind (Ben Affleck).  I’m pretty sure online poker is now illegal in the U.S., but like I said: throwback.  I’m not exactly sure what to think of the film from the trailers, but I have faith in screenwriters Brian Koppelman and David Levien, the guys who wrote Rounders.

I’m pleased to announce we’re giving away 50 passes to a Los Angeles screening of Runner Runner.  Hit the jump to find out how you can see the movie early and for free.  Runner Runner opens October 4th.

To enter for a chance to get you and a guest into the movie, click here.  Only the first 50 people who use this link will be able to get a pass.  The screening is on Wednesday, October 2nd at 7:30PM at AMC Century City 15, so don’t enter if you think you’ll be unavailable. Please note that a pass is not a ticket. To guarantee a seat, please arrive at the theater early since seating is first come, first serve.

In case you haven’t seen it, here’s the trailer:

And here’s the official synopsis for Runner Runner:

Princeton grad student Richie, believing he’s been swindled, travels to Costa Rica to confront online gambling tycoon Ivan Block. Richie is seduced by Block’s promise of immense wealth, until he learns the disturbing truth about his benefactor. When the FBI tries to coerce Richie to help bring down Block, Richie faces his biggest gamble ever: attempting to outmaneuver the two forces closing in on him.
