For almost any other actor, a 9-picture deal would seem ludicrous; a function of hyperbole if an actor signed on for anything more than three movies. But for Samuel L. Jackson, it’s disturbingly sensible. The guyappearsin an average ofaboutthree to fivemovies a year, the redesigned comics version of Nick Fury was made with him in mind, and he’s a huge fan of comic books.

So its less-than-remarkable-but-still-humorous that the ruckus between Marvel and Jackson possibly not returning is not only ended, but has leaped to the other side of the spectrum where Jackson will appear in “Iron Man 2”, “Thor”, “Captain America”, and “The Avengers” and all possible sequels. There’s also the possibility of leading a “SHIELD” movie. You know, if you’re going to be making little cameos in every Marvel movie, one would hope that they’re considering making a film that explains to non-comic book fans, “Here’s the story of this black gentleman with the eye-patch that keeps popping up in these superhero movies,”.

Now let’s see if Marvel can finally get Mickey Rourke on board as a villain for “Iron Man 2” as well as cast Black Widow and Thor. If not, I’m sure Jackson can play those roles too.
