Check out an Interactive Screenplay for SHAUN OF THE DEAD; Watch an Hour-Long Conversation with Edgar Wright Talking about Filmmaking

     August 5, 2013

The U.S. release of The World’s End will soon hit our shores, and so a spotlight is being turned to the past work and development of writer-director Edgar Wright.  The first piece is an interactive screenplay for his breakthrough film, Shaun of the Dead.  The screenplay contains images of storyboards, behind-the-scenes photos, sketches and much more.  On numerous occasions, Wright’s collaborators have noted his exactness for what he wants to shoot, and that comes across clearly in the interacting screenplay.  As for his development as a filmmaker, last year he sat down for an hour-long discussion at the London Screenwriters Festival.  I haven’t had time to watch the full video, but he goes all the way back to his first feature, A Fistful of Fingers, so this discussion is definitely something I’m going to try and make time for later in the day.

Hit the jump to check out the video, and be sure to see The World’s End when it opens on August 23rd.  And if you’re a fan of Wright’s and live in Atlanta, you should totally check out our Shaun of the Dead/Hot Fuzz double-feature on August 12th.
