Watch: ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ Set Video Shows Tom Holland Hanging Around NYC

     September 28, 2016

Production on Spider-Man: Homecoming continues in New York City, the hometown of this teenage superhero from Queens. Actor Tom Holland has been spotted by fans and paparazzi around the area over the past few days, and today brings even more close-up looks at the newly minted web-slinger in action.

As shown in photos and video shot the other night, Holland shot an evening scene involving a mysterious briefcase. He’s seen both in his Peter Parker attire and Spider-Man costume, and it seems like he’s in hushed pursuit of somebody. Holland is shown sprinting across the street and ducking down at the side of a car, while later he wears a black t-shirt that says, in true Peter style, “The Physics Is Theoretical, The Fun Is Real.”

Elsewhere, Holland dons the suit again for a scene that takes place on a fire escape on the side of an apartment building. In a video shot of the moment, he stands horizontally (thanks to the movie magic of wires) as he flexes his web muscles. Also spotted among the many, many sneak peeks is a car with the Stark license plate, referring to Robert Downey Jr.’s return as Iron Man after the character recruited Peter to fight in the Civil War.

Jon Watts directs Spider-Man: Homecoming, which also stars Disney Channel star Zendaya (rumored to play Peter’s love interest Mary-Jane Watson), Marisa Tomei back as Aunt May, Michael Keaton as the villain Vulture, Jon Favreau back as Happy Hogan, Tony Revolori as school bully Flash, Hannibal Buress, Donald Glover, Logan Marshall-Green, Kenneth Choi, Laura Harrier as Liz, and Jacob Batalon as Ned.

Plot details are still under wraps, but it will feature Peter at school, so maybe this Homecoming subtitle can be taken literally. The film is scheduled for release on July 7, 2017.
