SPY’s Melissa McCarthy and Jason Statham Talk Childhood Crushes and Favorite Shows

     June 12, 2015

Paul Feig’s Spy is now in theaters. As I’ve said many times before, I think Spy is great and is an extremely funny movie that’s definitely worth your time and money. The potential franchise-starter features Melissa McCarthy as Susan Cooper, a CIA analyst who goes into the field for the very first time after her partner (Jude Law) falls off the grid. Loaded with an all-star cast (Jason Statham, Rose Byrne, Miranda Hart, Bobby Cannavale, Allison Janney, Peter Serafinowicz, and Morena Baccarin), one of the main reasons Spy is so great is that each supporting character has a moment to shine, and Statham completely knocks it out of the park in his first big studio comedy. At the L.A. press day I landed an exclusive video interview with Melissa McCarthy and Jason Statham. They talked about actors they had crushes on as kids, the movies that made them fall in love with film, their favorite bad movies, what TV shows they’re currently watching, and more.

Here’s the interview followed by the full list of questions.
