New Poster for STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS Leaves London Burning

A new poster for has been released for Star Trek Into Darkness, and it’s similar to a recent one except this time, Benedict Cumberbatch is walking away from a burning futuristic London instead of giant crewmembers of the U.S.S. Enterprise.  It’s a more effective poster even though it puts all of the focus on the bad guy instead of the heroes.

Hit the jump to check out the poster.  The film also stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, Simon Pegg, Anton Yelchin, John Cho, Bruce Greenwood, Peter Weller, and Alice EveStar Trek Into Darkness opens in IMAX 3D on May 15th, and 3D and 2D on May 17th.

Here’s the official synopsis for Star Trek Into Darkness:

In the wake of a shocking act of terror from within their own organization, the crew of The Enterprise is called back home to Earth.  In defiance of regulations and with a personal score to settle, Captain Kirk leads his crew on a manhunt to capture an unstoppable force of destruction and bring those responsible to justice.

As our heroes are propelled into an epic chess game of life and death, love will be challenged, friendships will be torn apart, and sacrifices must be made for the only family Kirk has left: his crew.
