‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ Needs No Words in This Music-Only Trailer Edit [Updated]

     October 21, 2015

There’s a lot to be excited about with J.J. Abrams’ new installment in the Star Wars franchise opening later this year, not least of which is yet another chance to enjoy the aural pleasures of the inimitable John Williams. While Star Wars: The Force Awakens has already promised an upgrade to the characters, effects, creatures, and vehicles of the fan-favorite mythology, as we heard in the new trailer, Williams’ famous score has received an update as well.

But perhaps the pesky, though scant, lines of dialogue interrupted your enjoyment of the musical accompaniment of the trailer’s stunning visuals. Well, you’re in luck since there’s a new cut of the very same trailer that has 100% less dialogue and allows the score to sing its way to the surface. [Update: We haven’t actually confirmed that the music in this trailer has anything to do with Williams’ score, so while the official trailer likely has touches from the Oscar-winning composer, this new version is a fan-made edit. Sorry for the confusion!]
