If you’re tired of all the trolling around Jon Snow and Glenn, J.J. Abrams isn’t helping matters much. In case you needed more reasons to be suspicious about why we haven’t seen a first look at Mark Hamill’s in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the director confirmed that, yes, there is a reason he’s been hiding from the trailers. It looks like this could all change next week as teased by Abrams in the new video for Omaze.
The philanthropic initiative Force for Change, which gives fans the opportunity to win Star Wars swag and meet the cast in exchange for charitable donations, trudges onward. Abrams is the subject of a new video promoting all the various organizations you can help fund, including the Daisy Ridley-supported Phab and the Oscar Isaac-supported Union of Concerned Scientists. Anthony Daniels (C-3PO), Andy Serkis (Supreme Leader Snoke), John Boyega (Finn), Gwendoline Christie (Captain Phasma), Adam Driver (Kylo Ren), Domhnall Gleeson (General Hux), Lupita Nyong’o (Maz Kanata), Carrie Fisher (Leia), and Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca) all popped up in the video to promote their respective charities.
“But where’s Mark Hamill?” Abrams pondered in a post-credits stinger of sorts. A title card followed this teasery question with a slightly less teasery statement: “To be continued next week…” Watch the video below.
Harrison Ford wasn’t in the video either, but he featuredin which he surprised fans. Might Hamill do the same and, thereby, reveal some small tidbit (seriously, we’ll take anything) about the return of Skywalker? His omission from the trailers and posters suggests doing so would spoil something pretty major about the character’s portrayal in Episode VII. It’s been years since the events of Return of the Jedi, and this throwback clip of Hamill telling Abrams about isn’t helping to quell the flames of suspicion.
At this point, it doesn’t really matter if we see anything next week because The Force Awakens hits theaters on December 18th.
