Everything You Need to Know about ‘Star Wars: Episode II’ in under 3 Minutes

     November 16, 2015

Continuing our run of Star Wars video recaps, we happily present to your our condensed version of George Lucas‘ Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones. This film picks up 10 years after the events of Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace and finds the galaxy on the brink of civil war. In case you don’t have time to revisit all six episodes before checking out Star Wars: The Force Awakens when it opens December 18th (or just don’t want to watch the prequels, which is understandable), this video should get you caught up.

While Ewan McGregor returns as Jedi Knight Obi-Wan Kenobi for this outing, Anakin Skywalker is now played by the wooden marionette human actor Hayden Christensen, who’s at least a little more age appropriate in his advances toward Natalie Portman‘s Queen Amidala. The only things holding this movie together are the appearance of bounty hunters Jango and Boba Fett, Samuel L. Jackson as Jedi Master Mace Windu, and the audience-stunning reveal of Jedi Master Yoda’s lightsaber skills.

Here’s the official synopsis for Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones:

Ten years after the invasion of Naboo, the galaxy is on the brink of civil war. Under the leadership of a renegade Jedi named Count Dooku, thousands of solar systems threaten to break away from the Galactic Republic. When an assassination attempt is made on Senator Padmé Amidala, the former Queen of Naboo, twenty-year-old Jedi apprentice Anakin Skywalker is assigned to protect her. In the course of his mission, Anakin discovers his love for Padmé as well as his own darker side. Soon, Anakin, Padmé, and Obi-Wan Kenobi are drawn into the heart of the Separatist movement and the beginning of the Clone Wars.
