While plenty of folks charged out to see Star Wars: The Force Awakens last night (we’re still waiting on the box office numbers), we all knew it would hook us right from the start thanks to John Williams’ score. There were so many things to doubt or places the film could go wrong, but you could always place your faith in Williams. After all, his scores for the prequel trilogy were one of the few bright spots of those otherwise irredeemable messes.
Thankfully, he doesn’t have to put the latest Star Wars film on his back like he did with the prequels. The Force Awakens works in concert with his terrific music rather than relies on it, and now you can listen to the full score online via Spotify. I’m still not sure what’s my favorite track, but you can be sure the album is going to be on in constant rotation during the next month or so.
Take a listen to the full Star Wars: The Force Awakens score below, and don’t worry–there are no spoilery track names like “The High Council Meeting and Qui-Gon’s Funeral”. For more on the making of the score, click here.
