Steve Carell and Allison Janney Talks THE WAY, WAY BACK, Working for Two Directors, the Quality of the Script, and Upcoming Projects MOM and FOXCATCHER

The coming of age comedy/drama The Way, Way Back opens this weekend in limited release.  The film marks the directorial debut of The Descendants co-writers Nat Faxon and Jim Rash, and centers on a 14-year-old boy (Liam James) who spends his summer vacation bonding with the manager of a water park (Sam Rockwell) while staying with his mother (Toni Collette) and her overbearing boyfriend (Steve Carell).  For more on the film, watch the trailer.  The film also starsMaya RudolphRob CorddryZoe Levin, AnnaSophia Robb, and Amanda Peet.

At the recent Los Angeles press day, I landed an interview with Carell and Janney.  They talked about being able to play a different type of character, the quality of the script, how they got cast, what it was like working for two directors, and more.  In addition, Janney talked about her upcoming CBS comedy Mom, and Carell talked about director Bennett Miller‘s Foxcatcher.  Hit the jump to watch.
