Watch: Steve Jobs Biopic Set Video Reveals Filming in Actual Garage Where First Apple Computer Was Built

With casting being finalized for the Aaron Sorkin-penned, Danny Boyle-directed Steve Jobs biopic, production is starting to move forward as well.  Universal’s version (currently untitled) comes on the heels of 2013’s largely panned biopic Jobs (starring Ashton Kutcher), and it’s also returning to a famous location that movie used: Los Altos, California, where Jobs and fellow tech guru Steve Wozniak built the first Apple computer in Jobs’ parents’ garage.  Hit the jump for more information on the project, and to watch a Steve Jobs movie set video of the film’s production taking place in Los Altos.

steve-jobs-movie-michael-fassbenderIn a video from CBS San Francisco, neighbors to the famous house are interviewed about the production — based on the 2011 biography Jobs — which has expanded to a mammoth size (and is taking up a lot more space than last time.  It’s a local news story about street closures, what do you want?)

Recently, Kate Winslet was rumored to be in talks to star alongside Michael Fassbender, who is playing Jobs.  But residents said they are the most excited to see Seth Rogen, appearing as the Woz.  (Also of note, the studio anchor doesn’t seem to know who Fassbender is.  Let me show you the light …)

Also noteworthy is the recent casting of Inherent Vice‘s Katherine Waterston, who will play the lead role of Chrissan Brennan, the mother of Jobs’ first child Lisa. According to Sorkin, Lisa will be a big part of his movie, which, given the strange history of Jobs’ claims against paternity, should be interesting to explore.

According to the news story, the movie will wrap up production shortly in Los Altos, but will continue filming in and around the San Francisco Bay area through April.  Keep an eye out here for more news about the biopic, especially as that filming gets underway.
