Here’s a spot of good news to wake up to: Netflix will officially get stranger next year thanks to a second season of the smash hit series Stranger Things. That means fans will get to continue the fantastically original yet earnest tribute to the 80s that the Duffer Brothers’ series handled so well.
Though news is pretty slim at the moment, we do know that the new season will air in 2017 and that the story will pick up in the fall of 1984, a year after the events of the first season. Presumably, we’ll reunite with Will Byers and his friends in Hawkins, IN as their adventures (and the mysterious circumstances surrounding Eleven) continue.

Madmax, The Boy Who Came Back to Life, The Pumpkin Patch, The Palace, The Storm, The Pollywog, The Secret Cabin, The Brain, and The Lost Brother.
The Season 2 teaser video mimicked the opening credits of the first season, but in place of cast members, we have these teaser titles. Are they episode titles? Perhaps, though that would mean that Season 2 will have one more episode than its first season. I don’t think anyone will be complaining about that, if that’s the case. I’m sure you have thoughts and feels, so share them both in the comments below!
Here’s the official synopsis for the first season of Stranger Things:
99 out of a hundred times, the missing kid is with a parent or relative. What about the other time?
A love letter to the supernatural classics of the 80’s, Stranger Things is the story of a young boy who vanishes into thin air. As friends, family and local police search for answers, they are drawn into an extraordinary mystery involving top-secret government experiments, terrifying supernatural forces and one very strange little girl.
Stranger Things stars Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Natalia Dyer, Cara Buono, Charlie Heaton, and Matthew Modine.
Matt Duffer and Ross Duffer (Wayward Pines, Hidden) serve as writer, directors and co-showrunners of the series, and are executive producers along with Shawn Levy and Dan Cohen via their 21 Laps entertainment banner (The Spectacular Now, Night At The Museum, Real Steel, Date Night). Shawn Levy also serves as director. Stranger Things is a Netflix original series.”
