The show is co-written by filmmakers Josh Billig and Chris Martin with Martin directing all 10 episodes. Viki CEO Tammy H. Nam said in a press release, “Dramaworld is our love letter to drama fans everywhere. This sort of American/Korean web drama mash-up has never been done; we’re pushing boundaries everywhere, including the international co-production and distribution team from China, Korea and the U.S.”
If you’ve seen Pleasantville or The Last Action Hero, the show is going for that kind of wish fulfillment and what I saw on set looked like a lot of fun. When the show gets closer to premiering next year, I’ll have some exclusive video interviews with the cast and Chris Martin. Until then…enjoy the pics from the Studio Ghibli store in Seoul.
