Atlanta Readers: Win Passes to See THE HEAT

     June 17, 2013

This Is the End has been hailed as the summer’s great R-rated comedy, but I think we have another one on the way.  After the smashing success of Bridesmaids, director Paul Feig is back with the buddy-cop action-comedy, The Heat.  The film stars Sandra Bullock as an uptight FBI agent who’s paired up with a foul-mouthed Boston cop played by Melissa McCarthy.  The red-band trailer absolutely won me over, and while the movie might not radically reinvent the buddy-cop formula, the execution could be top-notch with the dynamic between Bullock and McCarthy.

I’m pleased to announce that we’re giving away passes to the Atlanta screening of The Heat.  Hit the jump to find out how you can see the movie early and for free.  The film also stars Katilin OlsonDemian BichirTony HaleThomas F. And here’s the official synopsis:

Uptight and straight-laced, FBI Special Agent Sarah Ashburn (Sandra Bullock) is a methodical investigator with a reputation for excellence–and hyper-arrogance. Shannon Mullins (Melissa McCarthy), one of Boston P.D.’s “finest,” is foul-mouthed and has a very short fuse, and uses her gut instinct and street smarts to catch the most elusive criminals. Neither has ever had a partner, or a friend for that matter. When these two wildly incompatible law officers join forces to bring down a ruthless drug lord, they become the last thing anyone expected: buddies. From Paul Feig, the director of “Bridesmaids.”
