THE INVISIBLE WAR Director Exposes Sexual Assault on College Campuses in First THE HUNTING GROUND Trailer

     January 21, 2015

The documentary The Invisible War, which chronicled the prevalence and frequent quieting of sexual assault in the military, is one of the most profound and impactful films of the last decade.  Now, three years later, director Kirby Dick returns with another documentary that seeks to expose an issue that’s long been swept under the rug: the epidemic of sexual assault cases in our nation’s college campuses.  The Hunting Ground will have its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival later this week, and judging by this debut trailer it’s going to be a difficult yet crucial watch about a very major problem that our country seems to be unwilling to discuss.

Check out the first The Hunting Ground trailer after the jump.  The film will be released in theaters on March 20th.

Here’s the official synopsis for The Hunting Ground:

From the team behind THE INVISIBLE WAR, comes a startling exposé of rape crimes on U.S. campuses, institutional cover-ups and the brutal social toll on victims and their families.  Weaving together verité footage and first-person testimonies, the film follows survivors as they pursue their education while fighting for justice — despite harsh retaliation, harassment and pushback at every level.
