Today, we’re happy to debut an exclusive clip from the new AMC horror series, The Terror. Based on the acclaimed novel by Dan Simmons, the 10-episode series stars Jared Harris (The Crown), Ciaran Hinds (Justice League) as Francis Crozier and Sir John Franklin, two ship Captains who lead the Royal Navy on a perilous journey into dangerous, uncharted territory on a mission to discover the Northern Passage. Faced with treacherous conditions, dwindling supplies, and a mysterious monster they can’t seem to escape, the crew battles the elements and their inner demons as they try to survive.
Stay tuned for our full review, but this series packs a real punch with slow-burn atmospheric chills and moments of bone-chilling horror. Showrunners Dave Kajganich and Soo Hugh tap into the spiritual and interpersonal terrors of Simmons’ source material and hand it over to a first-rate cast, with the added help of some stunning production value. It’s a good one.
The rest of the cast includes Tobias Menzies (Outlander), Paul Ready (Cuffs) as Dr. Henry Goodsir; Adam Nagaitis (Suffragette) as Cornelius Hickey, Nive Nielsen (The New World) as Lady Silence; Ian Hart (Neverland) as Thomas Blanky; and Trystan Gravelle (Mr. Selfridge) as Henry Collins. The series will debut on AMC at 9 PM Monday, March 26.
