In this, the first official Saturday of fall for countries in the Northern Hemisphere, I’m happy to report that temperatures in the Midwest are down to a brisk 60 degrees Fahrenheit. As someone who can’t be in the sun/heat for more than fifteen minutes without experiencing incapacitating sunburns, this is a welcomed change to be sure. On a separate note, readers of the site may have noticed that my productivity has decreased in the last week. In a bittersweet piece of news, I’ve taken on full-time employment in the wide world of telecommunications thus explaining my absence. Nevertheless, I’m going to do my level best to keep the “Top 5” coming each and every weekend for as long as I can. As for today…

…In this week’s installment, you can find the new, nearly four-minute trailer for David Fincher’s The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Community interviews with Chevy Chase, Donald Glover, Danny Pudi, Gillian Jacobs and more, Killer Elite interviews with Jason Statham, Clive Owen, Yvonne Strahovski and director Gary McKendry, the first trailer for Clint Eastwood’s J. Edgar and an ultra-important PSA teaching parents how to talk with their kids about Star Wars. Hit the jump for a brief recap and link to each.

1. Four-Minute Trailer for THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO

Considering I’ve yet to partake in Stieg Larsson’s source material or Niels Arden Oplev’s 2009 take, my excitement for David Fincher’s The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo rests entirely upon the director’s shoulders. His cold and brooding aesthetic is undeniably present in everything I’ve seen from the film thus far and, to be honest, it looks as if it’s shaping up to be everything I’m hoping for. If you’re anticipating this one as much as I am, you’ll do good to click here and watch (or re-watch) the nearly four-minute trailer for the film. Warning: There is a dizzying number of cuts.

2. COMMUNITY Interviews with Chevy Chase, Donald Glover, Danny Pudi, Gillian Jacobs and More

When I hear friends from almost every circle of my life (professional bloggers and beyond) continually lend praise to NBC’s Community, I can’t help but feel as if I’m missing out on something. I’ve already resided to the fact that one day I’ll catch up on the show and love every minute of it. In the meantime, I can at the very least try to stay abreast on the buzz surrounding show by reading interviews like the ones we have for you this week. Williams and click here for our sit down with Donald Glover and Gillian Jacobs

3. Jason Statham, Clive Owen, Yvonne Strahovski and Director Gary McKendry Interviews KILLER ELITE

Even if I had no interest in straightforward action flicks, I might be compelled to check out Killer Elite if for no other reason than Clive Owen’s mustache. But, alas, I do have great interest in most actioners and anytime I see a guy tied to a chair take out another guy who isn’t tied to a chair my interest is peaked. If you feel the same, then you may want to click here to check out our interview with Jason Statham, the aforementioned Clive Owen, Chuck‘s Yvonne Strahovski and director Gary McKendry.

4. First Trailer for Clint Eastwood’s J. EDGAR

Three times Leonardo DiCaprio has been nominated for an Academy Award (for his work in What’s Eating Gilbert Grape, The Aviator and Blood Diamond respectively) and three times he has come up short. That said, at least on paper, having DiCaprio take on the role of a historically controversial figure like J. Edgar Hoover would seem ripe for yet another Oscar nod (and possibly his first win). While this first trailer from Clint Eastwood’s drama J. Edgar looks to feature more strong work from DiCaprio, I’m a little unsure whether or not the film will bring in the critical praise needed for Oscar buzz to pick up real momentum. Only time will tell.

5. How to Talk to Your Kids About STAR WARS

PSA How to Talk to Your Kids About STAR WARS slice

As a parent, it’s your responsibility to teach your children any number of lifelong skills from potty training and brushing their teeth to tying their shoes and riding a bike. While each of these things is certainly important, for Star Wars fans the responsibility of ensuring their offspring share their excitement and love of the franchise is at least of equal importance. Whether or not you have kids yet, it’s never too early to start planning for their future of Star Wars fandom. In case you need any tips on how to initiate the conversation, this PSA should help matters.
