TV Casting Call: Jack Coleman Heads to THE OFFICE, Rob Riggle to Train CHUCK and Gwyneth Paltrow Confirmed for GLEE

     September 28, 2010

Here’s a trio of casting updates for some fan favorite series. First up, since he doesn’t have to work for a mysterious company on Heroes anymore, EW reports Jack Coleman will be making a guest star appearance on The Office. He’s not a new Dunder-Mifflin Sabre employee but rather a government official who possesses a “Jon Hamm-esque wholesomeness.” No other details are currently known, but having enjoyed his turn as Horn-Rimmed Glasses anti-hero in the since canceled superhero series, it’ll be interesting to see him in a comedy.

Casting news for Chuck and Glee after the jump.

Though some stunt casting seems to be taking over the guest star roles on Chuck lately (Olivia Munn and Isaiah Mustafa being among them), another guest star has just been revealed. EW reports comedian and former Daily Show correspondent Rob Riggle will have a small part in the spy comedy series. Riggle will appear in this season’s eighth episode as Jim Rye, a super smart, intensely positive, and slightly crazy CIA agent who’s brought in to help Chuck become an even better spy. I would expect lots of yelling on his behalf.

Finally, there had been rumors of a guest appearance by vocally capable actress Gwyneth Paltrow on Fox’s musical series Glee and now they’ve been confirmed. Series creator told Us Magazine that Paltrow will indeed appear this season as a substitute teacher who Mr. Schuester falls for. In addition, Ms. Paltrow will apparently have 3 or 4 solos of her own.
