uma-thurman-american-ultraFirst up from Heat Vision is word that Thurman is in negotiations for American Ultra, the action comedy scripted by Max Landis.  The story centers on “an unmotivated stoner named Mike (Eisenberg) who lives with his girlfriend (Stewart) in a small, sleepy town. One night, their lives take an unexpected turn when Mike’s past comes back to haunt him, and he becomes the target of a government operation set to wipe him out.”  Thurman will play the part of a government employee who “spearheaded a secret program to create sleeper warriors, and now that someone wants to kill her creation, she will fight back like a momma bear protecting her cub.”  Production is expected to start April 14th.

Though much of the script is being kept under wraps, Deadline reports that Sheen will join Beatty’s untitled Howard Hughes project.  Beatty stars as the late multi-hyphenate in a story that revolves around Hughes’ assistant (Ehrenreich) and his love interest (Collins).  Annette Bening and Matthew Broderick also star.  Sheen also just wrapped on the animated adaptation of The Boxcar Children book series, which also features the voices of Joey King, Mackenzie Foy, J.K. Simmons, and D.B. Sweeney.

THR reports that Zellweger will star opposite Craig in the courtroom thriller, The Whole Truth.  Craig’s character in the Nicholas Kazan script is said to be a district attorney, but the details on this one are being kept quiet.

Finally, Heat Vision has Kretschmann taking on another villainous role, this time in Agent 47.  Friend stars in the title role of the videogame-inspired assassin, while Quinto is on board as a villain.  Kretschmann’s role, also dastardly, is that of Le Clerq, “the chairman of an organization called Syndicate International, which is set on creating an army of unstoppable agents.” The movie is currently shooting in Berlin.  Kretschmann will play Baron Wolfgang Von Strucker in Joss Whedon’s Avengers: Age of Ultron, and may be seen as a Marvel villain in other films to come.
