Collider Weekly TV Guide: PENNY DREADFUL, LAST MAN ON EARTH, and More

     April 27, 2015

The Collider Weekly TV Guide is a rundown of notable episodes, premieres, returns, finales, and opportunities to catch up on great shows (or cast an eye to the occasional TV train wreck). Here are the picks for the week beginning Monday, April 27th:

Monday 4/27

The Returned, “Claire” (A&E, 10 p.m.) — A&E’s great adaptation of the French zombie series continues with Claire’s secret coming to light. Victor, meanwhile, manages to find new ways of being a super creepy and possibly evil child, and Camille comes face to face with the extreme consequences to her trying to help bereaved families.

Tuesday 4/28

The Flash, “The Trap” (CW, 8 p.m.) — The plan to trap Dr. Wells comes with a huge risk, as the show references the original timeline’s outcome. Will (alt) history repeat itself? In the relationship department, Eddie makes a bold decision regarding Iris.

Arrow, “Ah Sah-Him” (CW, 8 p.m.) — Oliver begins his transformation, while the League of Assassins have Nyssa in their sights. But, Laurel calls upon Felicity and Diggle to help.

The Casual Vacancy (HBO, 8 p.m.) — The 3-part, miniseries (2 parts of which air tonight, the other arrives on Thursday), starring Michael Gambon, Keeley Hawes, Rory Kinnear and Monica Dolan is an adaptation of J.K. Rowling‘s novel of the same name, and co-produced by the BBC.

Thursday 4/30

Louie, “Bobby’s House” (FX, 10:30 p.m.) — The listing for this, in its entirety, is “Louie’s invited to Bobby’s.” But it’s Louie so, yes, you should watch it.

Friday 5/1

Beyond the Tank (ABC, 9 p.m.) — A companion series for Shark Tank fans that follows what happens post-Tank, as the entrepreneurs try to grow their businesses. In addition to focusing on winning teams and inventions, there will also be follow-ups from fan-favorites of seasons past.

Saturday 5/2

Cleveland Abduction (Lifetime, 8 p.m.) — The title says it all. This Lifetime production is based on the story of Michelle Knight, who was abducted by Ariel Casto and held captive with 2 other women for more than 11 years. Females, they strong as hell.

Sunday 5/3

Game of Thrones, “The Sons of the Harpy” (HBO, 9 p.m.) — Jaime and Bronn arrive in Dorne to chaos, while Sansa gets some bad news about her future from Littlefinger. Across the Narrow Sea, Tyrion meets a surprising Westerosi traveller on his way to Meereen.

The Last Man on Earth, “Screw the Moon” (Fox, 9:30 p.m.) — After an uneven season that (after starting brilliantly) devolved quickly into a sitcom about sexual tensions in cul-de-sac, The Last Man on Earth‘s season finale will focus on Phil and Carol finally making peace. And possibly raisin balls.

Penny Dreadful, “Fresh Hell” (Showtime, 10 p.m.) — The season 2 premiere sees the return of Evelyn Poole, who brings with her a barrage of occult images that disturb Vanessa. Elsewhere, Dr. Frankenstein attempts to give Brona new life, while Ethan flees town after his massacre.
