James Woods May Join WHITE HOUSE DOWN, Chris Cooper in Talks for AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY, Cole Hauser Joins OLYMPUS HAS FALLEN

Variety reports cole-hauser-olympus-has-fallenthat Woods is in early talks to play the head of the presidential detail in Sony’s White House Down. The picture stars Tatum as a Secret Service agent who defends the President when a paramilitary group takes over the White House.  The picture, from scribe James Vanderbilt (The Amazing Spider-Man) is set to begin production in August.

In other White House news, Heat Vision has Hauser joining Olympus Has Fallen as a Secret Service agent alongside Butler.  The agents must protect the President (Eckhart) when Korean terrorists take over the Oval Office.  Hauser recently wrapped on the Bruce Willis picture,  A Good Day to Die Hard.

Finally, Variety reports that Cooper may join the Weinsten Co’s August: Osage County. The film is an adaptation of the Tracy Letts play penned by Letts herself.  The picture centers on the Westons, a family who must overcome their differences when their alcoholic father goes missing.  Cooper is in talks to star as Streep’s brother-in-law.  August: Osage County would reunite Cooper with director Wells, who previously worked together in Company Men.
