New X-MEN: FIRST CLASS Set Photos May Show Off the X-Men’s Jet

     December 9, 2010

New set photos from Matthew Vaughn’s X-Men: First Class have surfaced and they may provide the first look at the superhero team’s jet (which in the comics is called the Blackbird).  Most of the X-Men don’t have the special ability to fly so they need to get around the old fashioned: in a super-futuristic jet that’s kept hidden beneath the school’s basketball court.  The production is currently setting up on Jekyll Island where shooting is expected to take place later this month.  The pieces of the jet are strewn around so it’s possible that the scene they’re filming takes place after the jet has crashed.

For enough of my speculation and to see the set photos, hit the jump.  X-Men: First Class stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Rose Byrne, and January Jones.  It’s set to open on June 3, 2011.
